Mrs. Joyce Shumate
I am so excited to be your new LRC Director here at Bednarcik Junior High School. I started in SD308 as a long-term substitute and paraprofessional in 2004, and moved into a certified teaching position in 2006. I taught social studies and drama during my early years, but my main focus was always English language arts. In May 2025, I completed my 19th year in the ELA classroom. As the LRC Director, I am looking forward to working with Bednarcik’s staff to help students not only find their reading interests but also explore their passions and expand their worlds.
